CPD Certificate Policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026

1. Introduction

This CPD Certificate Policy ("Policy") explains how QS Assistant Ltd ("QS Assistant", "we", "us" or "our") issues, manages and, where necessary, revokes Certificates of Completion and Continuing Professional Development ("CPD Certificates").

This Policy applies to all users who complete educational activities through the QS Assistant website, online learning platform and associated educational services (the "Platform").

It should be read together with our:

Terms of Use;

Disclaimer;

Acceptable Use Policy;

Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy; and

Privacy Policy.

2. Purpose of Our Certificates

QS Assistant issues Certificates to recognise the successful completion of educational activities made available through the Platform.

Certificates are intended to:

recognise completion of learning activities;

encourage continuing professional development;

provide users with a record of completed learning;

support lifelong learning within the construction industry.

Certificates are designed to support professional development and should be viewed as evidence of participation and successful completion of QS Assistant learning activities.

3. Eligibility

A Certificate may be issued where a learner has successfully satisfied the completion requirements specified for the relevant learning activity.

Depending upon the course, this may include:

completing all required learning modules;

viewing mandatory educational content;

successfully completing Assessments;

achieving any minimum pass mark specified;

satisfying any other completion criteria published for that activity.

QS Assistant reserves the right to amend completion requirements for future learners without affecting Certificates already validly issued.

4. What a Certificate Confirms

Unless expressly stated otherwise, a QS Assistant Certificate confirms only that:

the named individual completed the relevant QS Assistant learning activity;

the completion requirements applicable at the time were satisfied;

the Certificate was issued by QS Assistant Ltd.

No additional meaning should be inferred.

5. What a Certificate Does Not Confirm

A QS Assistant Certificate does not:

constitute a professional qualification;

confer chartered status;

confer membership of any professional institution;

provide academic credit;

demonstrate professional competence;

certify practical experience;

replace formal education;

replace supervised workplace training;

guarantee acceptance by an employer;

guarantee acceptance by any regulator;

guarantee acceptance for CPD by any professional institution;

guarantee compliance with employer CPD requirements.

Acceptance of CPD activities remains entirely at the discretion of the relevant employer, professional institution or regulatory body.

6. CPD Hours

Where a Certificate refers to CPD hours, those hours represent QS Assistant's reasonable estimate of the time normally required to complete the relevant learning activity.

Actual completion times may vary depending upon:

previous knowledge;

learning style;

pace of study;

revision undertaken;

assessment attempts.

Users remain responsible for ensuring that any claimed CPD hours satisfy the requirements of their employer or professional institution.

7. User Responsibilities

Users are responsible for ensuring that:

information provided during registration is accurate;

Certificates are used honestly;

Certificates are not altered;

Certificates are retained for their own professional records where appropriate.

Users must not claim completion of learning activities they have not personally completed.

8. Certificate Security

Certificates issued by QS Assistant may contain security features designed to assist in verifying authenticity.

Users must not:

alter a Certificate;

remove branding;

change completion dates;

change learner names;

remove verification information;

create counterfeit Certificates;

reproduce Certificates for another individual.

Any alteration of a Certificate immediately renders it invalid.

9. Downloading Certificates

Where available, users may download their Certificates through their Account.

Certificates may generally be downloaded multiple times while they remain valid.

Users are encouraged to retain their own copies for future reference.

QS Assistant does not guarantee permanent storage of Certificates indefinitely and recommends that users download and securely retain copies once issued.

10. Replacement Certificates

Where technically possible, QS Assistant may provide replacement copies of previously issued Certificates.

Replacement Certificates will normally reproduce the information originally recorded.

QS Assistant reserves the right to refuse requests where:

identity cannot be verified;

the Certificate has been revoked;

fraudulent activity is suspected;

records are no longer available.

11. Certificate Verification

QS Assistant may verify the authenticity of Certificates where requested by:

the Certificate holder;

employers;

educational institutions;

professional bodies;

regulators; or

other persons with the Certificate holder's authority or where otherwise permitted by law.

Verification may be limited to confirming whether:

the Certificate was issued by QS Assistant;

the Certificate remains valid;

the completion date;

the course title.

We will not disclose additional personal information unless permitted by applicable law.

12. Revocation of Certificates

QS Assistant reserves the right to revoke a Certificate where we reasonably believe that it has been obtained or used improperly.

This may include circumstances where:

false information was provided;

Assessments were completed dishonestly;

another individual completed the learning activity;

an Account was shared;

Platform security was compromised;

a Certificate was altered;

a Certificate was obtained fraudulently;

a serious breach of our Terms of Use has occurred.

Where reasonably practicable, we will notify the affected user before revoking a Certificate unless immediate action is necessary to protect the integrity of the Platform.

13. Consequences of Revocation

Where a Certificate is revoked, QS Assistant may also:

invalidate Assessment results;

suspend or terminate the associated Account;

withdraw access to the relevant learning activity;

refuse future Certificate requests;

take any other action reasonably necessary to protect the integrity of the Platform.

Revocation resulting from a user's breach of our Terms does not entitle that user to a refund unless required by applicable law.

14. Intellectual Property

All Certificate designs, layouts, branding, graphics, wording and security features are the intellectual property of QS Assistant Ltd.

Users receive a limited licence to download and use their own Certificates for legitimate personal and professional purposes.

No ownership of any intellectual property is transferred by the issue of a Certificate.

15. Changes to this Policy

QS Assistant may amend this Policy from time to time to reflect:

changes in legislation;

developments in professional practice;

improvements to the Platform;

changes to our educational Services;

changes to Certificate formats;

technological developments; or

other legitimate business requirements.

The latest version of this Policy will always be published on the Platform.
